Annual student Travel award

About

The American Malacological Society (AMS) offers Student Travel Awards to help support student participation at the Annual Meeting. These awards are granted on a competitive basis and are intended to assist students who will be presenting their research at the conference.

  • Eligibility: Students only

  • Number of awards: Typically 4–6 per year (subject to funding)

  • Maximum award amount: $500-$1000

CONDITIONS OF AWARD

  • The applicant must be a current member of the American Malacological Society. To join, please visit: https://ams.wildapricot.org/Membership
  • Be students at or have graduated from a degree-granting program (or high school) within six months immediately prior to the meeting’s registration deadline.
  • Be actively presenting a talk or poster at the upcoming AMS Annual Meeting.

HOW TO APPLY

Deadline: March 31

Required Application Materials

Submit a single PDF containing the following:

  1.   Presentation abstract (including title)

  2.   Brief Statement (a few sentences total)

    • Outlining the applicant's research goals and how the planned presentations fits into these goals. 

    • Must include total amount of funds requested and a budget breakdown of those funds

  3.   Curriculum Vitae (CV)
