AMS Student Travel Awards

The Annual Student Travel Award and SCOR Travel Award for Early Career Researchers from Developing Countries will support student participation at this meeting. The deadline for submission of applications is April 30th, 2025. Please see the associated sites for additional information.

AMS Auction

On the evening of August 6th, the annual AMS Auction will take place—a favorite tradition for many attendees. We thank everyone in advance for their generosity—whether you're donating unique items or bidding enthusiastically to support AMS student travel and research awards! Auction items can include anything mollusk-related, such as books, artwork, or collectibles, but shells and specimens are excluded. Additionally, consider donating services—your time and expertise in scientific illustration, tutorials, photography, manuscript reviews, or copy editing could make a meaningful contribution. If you plan to donate, please fill out the information using this link: AMS donations.

Important Visa Information

Please note that beginning on April 10th, 2025, travelers from Australia, Canada, and the United States MUST have a visa to enter Brazil. If you already have a valid physical visa in your passport that serves the purpose of your visit, you do NOT need to obtain a new one.

More information on Brazilian visas can be found at the US government site for US Embassies and Consulates in Brazil. As described in the FAQ at the Brazil eVisa site (where you can submit electronic applications for visas for Brazil), the average processing time for visa applications is five working days, but please be sure to apply early to avoid any last minute hassles.
