SCOR Travel award for early career researchers from Developing Countries

The AMS JEDI Committee, in partnership with the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR), is offering travel awards to support early career researchers from developing countries who will present marine research at the AMS Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the World Congress of Malacology in São Paulo, Brazil (August 4–8, 2025).

We expect to award four grants of $1,000 each to assist with travel expenses. Awardees will be selected through a lottery system from among eligible applicants with suitable abstracts.

How to Apply

To be considered for a SCOR Travel Award, applicants must:

  • Be an early career researcher (enrolled as a student or up to 10 years post-degree) from an eligible developing country
  • Associated with an institution in an eligible developing country
  • Submit an abstract for their marine research presentation at the 2025 WCM Meeting .

Application materials should be submitted as a single PDF file and sent via email to the Chair of the Student Awards and Education Committee, Chandra Earl (chandra.earl@asu.edu). The file should be named using the applicant’s last name followed by "SCOR_Travel" (e.g., Lopez_SCOR_Travel.pdf).
